Opticals
We know you know we do all major brands. We know you know too of our expertise and quality commitment. So to justify this section of the website without reiterating what is already mentioned on the "Home" page, Let us give you some handy information that may help you make an informed choice when up for a new pair of Spectacles, Sunglasses or Contact Lenses. :)
The Optical Lens: Why is there a range from Rs 50 to Rs 50,000/-?
Three things matter here:
- A Surface or Design which enables the correction of your sight defect. There is one design for each sight problem.
- A Material which is the main component of a lens. Its choice will influence on the aesthetics, the weight and the resistance of the finished lens. It brings the optical correction. in accordance with the design. Combined with coatings, it aims at making the wearer forget he wears glasses.
- A Coating applied on the sides of the lenses, it\is an added - value for your money lens: anti-reflect, anti-smudge, solar protection, scratch resistant, anti-static (dust repellent), water repellent etc.
The above more or less would determine how much you will shell for your lenses. And yes, Photochromatic lenses (that darken themselves in response to Sunlight) would add on extra value too.
Contact Lenses: What do varieties here mean?
Lenses can be regular wear or disposables. Regular wear attract more wear and tear and therefore with time become less and less comfortable to put on. Disposables are, as expected, more comfortable to wear for longer duration, and their comfort relies on how much oxygen permeability, silica and water content they have.
